~Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not
see. ~Hebrews 11:1 (*this year’s theme verse)
Seeing God Clearly in 2020
Focus, focus, focus! The object of our focus can make all the difference! What are we focusing on this year? I know it seems at times that all we know how to focus on is COVID-19, how it affects us, how it affects our jobs, our schools, our lives…EVERYTHING! Everyone wants to know what is going to happen and how we’re going to deal with all of it. We get distracted, our emotions get ahead of us, and no one knows what is normal and right anymore.
This is when we need to use our theme verse above* and remember that we have ONE hope—our faith in HIM. That Is why at Immanuel, our FOCUS in everything we do is on God. We have
friends that can encourage us and solid teachers that can help us understand.
We have A LOT to be thankful for and could argue even more so this year. If you’ve never
shared with others what Immanuel has to offer, now is your best opportunity! Let them know
that what we have is the freedom to live out God’s Word and FOCUS on Him so that everything
else can be clearer! We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday!!!
~The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but
fools despise wisdom and instruction. ~Proverbs 1:7
Supply List
Folders, pencils, notebooks, crayons….. you have everything ready? Everything labeled?
Do they need a new backpack? Do the kids need new shoes this year? Have they outgrown their clothes from last year? All of these are things we need to think about and prepare for, all to help our children grow in wisdom and instruction!
The feeling of checking these things off the list is always satisfying. We feel READY and comfortable sending our children off to school! BUT DO WE? Do we really feel comfortable with that supply list? Are we “ready”?
There’s one thing we can’t purchase on that supply list because no department store or even
Amazon, carries it. (No, I’m not talking about Clorox wipes or Kleenex!) I’m talking about
something you don’t need a mask to go get or even change in your pocket! I’m talking about
something far more beneficial!
J-E-S-U-S! Remember to send Him with your child each day.
We CAN feel ready and comfortable with Him added to our list! With confidence, we can send
our children off to learn and grow!
