“What’s done to children, they will do to society.”
~ Karl Menninger
What are the best practices? What is the right way?
And then we’re supposed to raise our children to be successful adults in this world we live in today, when at times we don’t even know how to live it ourselves. How can we give and do to our children what they will need and give to our society?
If you want my opinion, the best answer I’ve heard is: Jesus is the way! It sounds so easy, right?! Not always. I get it! But that is one thing I can confidently say that is easier at Immanuel. We can hear God’s Word and try to apply it to everything we do throughout the day. Following in Jesus’ footsteps makes everything easier and brighter!

FISH PHILOSOPHY
One of my favorite learning opportunities came from a story about a small fish market in Seattle. A fishmonger made an exhausting and cold job seem exciting, fun and easy! When the filmmaker of this documentary was shopping at this fish market he curiously followed the noise of cheering and excitement and thought, “I want what these guys have.” Now businesses and schools all over have adopted what is called the FISH philosophy to train their employees and encourage a positive attitude and environment. I recommend the book and video to anyone!
REMINDERS: If you have any more Box Tops clipped out, please bring them in by Tuesday, Feb. 25!!
Keep finding sponsors for our PUZZLE pieces. This will go throughout the month of February, even as we start up the PIZZA fundraiser. They are different opportunities for others to help as well as different causes!
We love because He first loved us”~ 1 John 4:19
Roses are red, violets are blue. Sugar is sweet, and so are you!
BE MY VALENTINE
Both of the verses above are pretty commonly used/recited. Of course, the latter
of the two is most often used for our special Valentines. Candy, flowers,
CHOCOLATE, cards are given in a way to share our love. These are “sweet”,
wonderful ways to express this.
However, over time these things lose their validity. The flowers die, the cards get
thrown, the chocolates devoured. As important as it is to show our love to others,
it’s important to remember that we are able to love, because He first loved us. He
will continually remind us again and again that it is His love that is the greatest
gift. He is asking us to be HIS Valentine all the time!
