Encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with
them all. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:14
Encouragement
Our new character trait for the month of March is “encouragement.” I think we could all use a little encouragement from time to time! We don’t always know what others are going through, either. A simple prayer each morning “Lord, send someone on my path that I may help/encourage.” Or some mornings, maybe we pray “Lord, send someone on my path to help encourage me!” The Lord listens and will provide us with these opportunities! Think about it for a moment. Isn’t it amazing how many phone calls, doorbell rings or passersby are unexpected and yet so timely!
Let’s help each other out. This hasn’t been an easy year for anybody.
There are always times we may need encouragement and always opportunities for us to give encouragement. PRAY and WATCH.

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take
courage; wait for the Lord! ~ Psalm 27:14
Hurry Up and Wait
It started when I was hoping I’d make it on time to my doctor’s appointment and then stood and waited in line to get checked in, waited in the room for the doctor’s arrival and then waited again for the nurse to come back and get future appointments booked. On the way home, I thought about how time is ticking and even though I’d eventually get back to pick up my kids, I’d have to wait again—I’d have to round them all up and wait for them to get their things together and put on their jackets. As fast as a person goes, we still end up waiting. I could go on and on and list multiple examples, and I know everyone has their own personal experiences with this! It
seems we’re always trying to rush somewhere (mentally and physically). Correct me (and Tom Petty) if I’m wrong–waiting is the hardest part.
We all wonder and wait, but HOW do we wait? Impatiently, like kids waiting to reach the destination of a long family road trip? Or with courage and contentment, living IN the moment? Thankfully, God works on His own timeframe, and His timing is perfect. No matter what concerns us—no matter what answers we’re waiting for or what destination we’re waiting to arrive at, we can rest assured the Lord has everything in His hands!

God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31~

CHOICES
We have started our highly-anticipated Unhinged! Pizza Fundraiser! Packets came home with each family today and now it’s time to get out there and see how many we can sell! Pizza is not a hard sell. It’s pretty well-liked by all! The hard part is just the number of choices! Think about it for a moment: there are 15 pizzas on our order form and this is not even CLOSE to the number of combinations we could get for a pizza! With almost anything, there are so many options/choices—shoes, paint colors, vehicles.…it’s hard to choose sometimes!
We are confronted with so many decisions every day. Obviously, some choices are less important than others, but we are defined in this life by the choices we make. God chose us as His children, will we choose to always live our lives for Him? Are we choosing our actions according to what God would want? Are we “choosing” to live like Jesus? May we always look to Him when making choices! ….and may we have an easy time deciding which delicious pizzas we’re going to go with! Or if you’re as hungry as I am thinking about it, one of each sounds good! 😊
~And what does the Lord require of you-but to do justice, to love
kindness and to walk humbly with your God. ~ Micah 8:6
HATE
No, the title is not a typo- got your attention though I hope! You may think it…..should be entitled LOVE. After all, it is the month of February, Valentine’s Day is coming up (hint, hint to the men reading this newsletter ☺), and our character trait for the month is also Love!
But don’t we all know about love? We hear it all the time, right? I LOVE chocolate. I LOVE hunting. I LOVE so and so. It seems simple. And we’ve all been told to love with our whole heart, love everyone, love your neighbor as yourself. And so we should! It’s a commandment! But unfortunately, hate is a real thing too. Of course, the simple things like broccoli or homework; but it also creeps into deeper things like illness and death or certain beliefs and people. It leads to anger and violence. It’s a tough world out there and negative thoughts can take over. Hate took over the title of this article! It made its way in BUT only to point out what we need MORE of. It is that plain and simple: Without the Love of Christ and trying to live by His example, we really can’t make it far.
…So let’s take this month as an extra special opportunity to show our love to our fellow classmates and our teachers or coworkers, enjoy making those Valentine treat boxes with your kiddos and most importantly Love because He first loved us!
