OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Immanuel Lutheran School uses God’s Word in a Christ-centered education to assist families in training students for Christian lives on earth and for eternity.
This year’s theme is:
Jesus Christ is at the center of all we do.
Students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin are admitted to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students through Immanuel Lutheran School. We have students from many area churches including LCMS, ELCA, WELS, Catholic, Methodist etc. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies, admission policies, athletic and other school programs.
ACADEMIC:
In addition to the usual subjects taught in an elementary school, the Christian faith is taught not only as an added subject area, but as a way of life throughout the total curriculum. As your child progresses through the grades, s/he learns more and more of the chief doctrines of the Bible in the light of Lutheran doctrine. “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
ACTIVITIES:
There are many different enrichment activities enjoyed by Immanuel Lutheran School students. In a typical year, we include the following:
Each Wednesday of the school week begins with chapel at the church. “Singing and Ringing” during Sunday morning service in church once a month allows the children to share their musical abilities.
Each fall there are visits from the Gaylord Firemen for fire safety week and Grandparents or special guests on V.I.P. day.
A Christmas program includes everyone from PreK students thru Eighth Grade. Another Christmas activity we enjoy is building gingerbread houses. This year we will join the Immanuel Senior Choir and Sunday School in presenting a mass choir concert.
In spring it is time to prepare a Drama Presentation, to prepare for Talent Night, and for field trips to many destinations. Upper grade students often have the opportunity to spend a few days and nights at Camp Omega. Graduation and school awards are celebrated during the last week of school.
ATHLETICS:
Immanuel Lutheran School offers students the opportunity to participate in volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and track. Extra-curricular team sports and competition with other schools is an important part of the physical education program. In addition students in grades 7-8 may participate in team sports offered at the public school.
